IDAHO STATE HOSTS EASTERN WASHINGTON IN BIG SKY MATCHUP

POCATELLO, Idaho (Interstat) — The Idaho State Bengals look to continue their climb in the Big Sky Conference standings when they host the struggling Eastern Washington Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at Holt Arena.

Idaho State (10-8 overall) enters with momentum after a 76-68 home victory over Idaho on Thursday, securing its second straight win. The Bengals have found success behind the dynamic play of guard Jamison Guerra. Over his last five games, Guerra is averaging 19.2 points and 5.8 assists, including a 26-point performance in a loss at Northern Colorado and a 21-point, 6-assist effort against Idaho.

Eastern Washington (3-14) seeks to halt a four-game skid, most recently an 80-91 loss at Weber State on Thursday. Despite the team’s struggles, forward Kiree Huie has been a consistent bright spot. Huie scored 21 points against Weber State and is averaging 16.1 points over his last seven contests.

The Eagles’ lone win in their last 11 games was a 66-65 home victory over Montana on Jan. 10. Idaho State has shown more consistency, particularly at home where they are 7-2 this season, including non-conference wins over Denver and a dominant 82-50 victory at Cal State Northridge.

This contest pits Idaho State’s balanced offense, which has scored 81 or more points in three of its last five, against an Eastern Washington defense that has allowed 84 or more points in six of its last seven losses.

The Bengals won both meetings last season. Following this game, Idaho State begins a two-game road trip at Montana State and Montana, while Eastern Washington returns home to host Portland State and Sacramento State.
