Cal State Northridge at Cal State Fullerton

Matadors, Titans Set for Big West Clash in Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. (Interstat) — A pair of teams heading in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Cal State Northridge Matadors visit the Cal State Fullerton Titans in a Big West Conference men’s basketball game at Titan Gymnasium.

Northridge (10-7 overall) enters on a two-game winning streak, including a 95-90 victory over Cal Poly on Thursday. The Matadors’ offense is powered by guard Josiah Davis, who is coming off a historic performance with 23 points and a career-high 15 assists in 40 minutes against the Mustangs. Over his last five games, Davis is averaging 17.6 points and 7.6 assists, catalyzing a Northridge attack that has scored 88 or more points in four of its last six contests.

Fullerton (7-10) snapped a three-game skid with an 88-71 road win at UC San Diego on Thursday. The Titans are led by guard Christian Williams, who scored 22 points in that victory. Williams has been a consistent scorer, reaching double figures in five of his last six games, including an 18-point effort in a close loss at Oklahoma State.

The matchup pits Northridge’s surging offense against a Fullerton team seeking consistency. The Matadors have won three of their last four, while the Titans have struggled at home in conference play, including a 64-86 loss to UC Irvine on Jan. 3.

Historically, games in this series have been tightly contested. Both teams will look to establish an early conference foothold, with Northridge aiming to stay above .500 and Fullerton trying to climb back to an even record.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. The Matadors continue conference play next at UC San Diego on Jan. 15. The Titans hit the road for their next two, starting at UC Davis on Jan. 15.
