West Georgia at Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — A surging West Georgia looks to extend its winning streak against a struggling Jacksonville squad when the ASUN Conference foes meet Saturday at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Wolves (9-6, 3-0 ASUN) enter on a three-game conference win streak, most recently an 85-73 road victory at North Florida on Thursday. Guard Malcolm Noel led the way with 22 points and four assists, continuing his strong play. Over his last three games, the junior is averaging 17 points and 4.3 assists.

He is complemented by a high-scoring backcourt. Shelton Williams-Dryden poured in 27 points against North Florida, while Josh Smith added 22. West Georgia’s offense has averaged 86.7 points during its current conference run.

Conversely, the Dolphins (5-11, 0-3) are mired in a five-game losing streak and are still seeking their first ASUN win. They are coming off a 77-51 home loss to Queens (N.C.) on Thursday, where they shot just 30.4% from the field. Guard Jaylen Jones, a consistent bright spot, leads the team and scored 11 points in the defeat. He has averaged 13.2 points over his last five contests.

Defense has been a persistent issue for Jacksonville, which has allowed 80.6 points per game during its losing skid, including a 112-point outing by Texas A&M in December. Containing West Georgia’s potent guard trio will be a primary challenge.

The matchup pits one of the conference’s hottest teams against one searching for answers. West Georgia will aim to maintain its share of the early ASUN lead, while Jacksonville desperately needs a home victory to stop its slide and gain conference footing.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. The teams will meet again in Carrollton, Georgia, on Feb. 7.
