Sam Houston vs. Idaho State

BOISE, Idaho (Interstat) — The Sam Houston Bearkats and Idaho State Bengals, two teams looking to build momentum early in the season, will face off in a non-conference men’s basketball game Wednesday at CenturyLink Arena.

Sam Houston (3-2) enters the contest on a two-game winning streak, including a 105-54 rout of Schreiner on Saturday. Damon Nicholas led the Bearkats with 16 points in that victory, while Jacobe Coleman added 10 points and five assists and CJ Beaumont scored 14 points. The Bearkats’ other win was a 78-70 victory over Wyoming.

Idaho State (3-3) is also coming off a dominant performance, having defeated Justice College 89-51 on Friday. Caleb Van De Griend poured in 29 points for the Bengals in that win, with Lachlan Brewer contributing 13 points. The Bengals have struggled on the road, however, dropping three straight games at San Diego State, Seattle and Santa Clara before the win over Justice College.

The neutral-site game in Boise is part of a multi-team event for both programs. Sam Houston will stay in the city to face Idaho on Friday, while Idaho State will host Cal State Northridge the same day.
