Columbia at Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Interstat) — The Columbia Lions, off to their best start in recent years, will put their three-game winning streak on the line Friday when they visit the Lehigh Mountain Hawks at Stabler Arena.

Columbia (3-1) is coming off a 54-49 defensive win over Boston University on Tuesday. Miles Franklin led the Lions with 10 points in that victory. The Lions’ only blemish is a 62-89 road loss to a powerful Connecticut team.

Lehigh (2-3) snapped a three-game skid with a 79-62 home win over Saint Francis (Pa.) on Tuesday. Guard Nasir Whitlock erupted for 23 points in the victory, while Hank Alvey added 12 points and four blocks.

The matchup pits Columbia’s early-season momentum against a Lehigh squad seeking consistency. The Mountain Hawks’ three losses have come against high-major opponents Rutgers, West Virginia and Houston on the road.

Friday’s contest is the first of a two-game homestand for Lehigh before it travels to face Marist next Tuesday. Columbia continues a busy stretch, hosting Longwood on Sunday in its next outing.
