Wisconsin vs. BYU
SALT LAKE CITY (Interstat) — The undefeated Wisconsin Badgers will face their toughest test of the young season when they visit the BYU Cougars at the Delta Center on Friday.
Wisconsin (4-0) enters the non-conference matchup riding a wave of dominant victories, having won each of its first four games by at least 19 points. The Badgers are coming off a 94-69 rout of SIU Edwardsville on Monday, powered by a 24-point, six-rebound performance from John Blackwell. Nick Boyd added 22 points and five assists, while Austin Rapp contributed 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
BYU (3-1) looks to bounce back from its first loss, a narrow 86-84 defeat on the road against Connecticut on Nov. 15. In that game, freshman AJ Dybantsa scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. Robert Wright added 16 points and four assists, and Richie Saunders chipped in 17 points. The Cougars’ resume includes a quality win over Villanova on Nov. 3.
The game pits Wisconsin’s high-powered offense, which has averaged over 93 points per game, against a BYU team tested by a tough early schedule. The matchup in the paint between Wisconsin’s Rapp and BYU’s Dybantsa will be one to watch.
Friday’s contest is the first of a challenging two-game road swing for the Badgers, who will face Providence in San Diego on Nov. 27. BYU will head to Florida for a pair of games in the ESPN Events Invitational, starting with Miami (Fla.) on Nov. 27.
