UNC Wilmington at Radford
FAIRLAWN, Va. (Interstat) — The UNC Wilmington Seahawks, coming off a dominant offensive performance, will look to continue their strong start when they visit the Radford Highlanders at the D.N. Dedmon Center on Friday.
UNC Wilmington (3-1) enters the nonconference matchup riding high after an 85-60 victory over East Carolina on Tuesday. Christian May led the way with 22 points, while Greedy Williams dished out 10 assists in the win. The Seahawks’ only loss came on the road against Kent State.
Radford (2-4) seeks to rebound from a difficult stretch, having lost four of its last five games. The Highlanders are coming off an 87-58 road loss to South Carolina on Tuesday, where Del Jones scored a team-high 16 points. Their two victories this season came against non-Division I West Va. Wesleyan and Western Illinois.
The game pits UNC Wilmington’s efficient offense against a Radford team that has struggled defensively in recent outings, including allowing 92 points to Wright State and 87 to both Cleveland State and South Carolina.
This is the first game of a two-game homestand for the Highlanders, who will host Notre Dame next Saturday. The Seahawks will return home to face Southeastern Louisiana next Wednesday.
