Alabama State at Air Force
AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (Interstat) — The Alabama State Hornets, coming off a historic offensive outburst, will look to continue their winning ways when they visit the struggling Air Force Falcons in a non-conference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Clune Arena.
Alabama State (2-1) is riding high after a 124-68 rout of Virginia-Lynchburg on Friday, a game in which three players posted standout performances. Tyler Byrd scored 18 points, Damarien Yates added 19, and Mario Andrews recorded a dominant 16 rebounds. The Hornets also own a notable 77-74 road victory over UAB from earlier this season.
Their momentum stands in stark contrast to that of the Falcons (0-4), who are still searching for their first win. Air Force is coming off a 76-61 home loss to Miami (Ohio) on Saturday. Caleb Walker led the Falcons with 17 points and eight rebounds in that contest, while Eli Robinson played the entire 40 minutes, contributing 13 points and five assists.
The Falcons’ defense will face a significant test against a potent Alabama State offense that has averaged 100.5 points in its two wins. Air Force has allowed an average of 70.5 points per game during its winless start.
This game is part of a multi-team event hosted at the Air Force Academy. Alabama State will remain in Colorado to face IUPUI on Friday, while Air Force is set to host SIU Edwardsville the same night.
