Harvard at Penn State
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Interstat) — Two undefeated teams will be put to the test Wednesday night when the Penn State Nittany Lions host the Harvard Crimson in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Penn State (4-0) looks to continue its strong start to the season, coming off an 83-69 road victory over La Salle on Saturday. The Nittany Lions’ offense has been potent, averaging 81.5 points per game. Guard Kayden Mingo has been a key facilitator, dishing out seven assists in the win over the Explorers.
Harvard (4-1) arrives in State College with momentum from a narrow 56-54 win at Marist on Sunday. The Crimson’s defense has been a hallmark, holding opponents to an average of 63.4 points. Robert Hinton led the way against Marist with 13 points and seven rebounds.
The game pits Harvard’s stingy defense against Penn State’s high-scoring attack. The Crimson’s only loss this season came against Northeastern, 77-60.
Wednesday’s contest is the first of a two-game trip to Pennsylvania for Harvard, which faces Boston College next. Penn State remains at home to host Providence on Saturday.
