RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Interstat) — An undefeated California Baptist looks to continue its strong start to the season when it hosts crosstown foe UC Riverside in a nonconference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at CBU Events Center.

The Lancers (3-0) are coming off a 69-59 home victory over Western Illinois on Friday. Dominique Daniels led the way with 22 points. California Baptist’s early success also includes a road win at UC Irvine.

The visiting UC Riverside Highlanders (2-2) aim to rebound from a narrow 76-74 home loss to North Dakota on Saturday. Despite the defeat, guard Marqui Worthy turned in a strong all-around performance with 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Forward Osiris Grady added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The game is a rare regular-season meeting between the two Riverside schools, separated by just a few miles. The Lancers will seek to defend their home court and remain perfect, while the Highlanders hope to even their record before heading to San Diego later in the week.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST.
