PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — A pair of city rivals coming off high-scoring opening-night wins will meet Saturday when the Saint Joseph’s Hawks host the Drexel Dragons in a non-conference men’s basketball game at Hagan Arena.

Both teams enter the 2025-26 season with 1-0 records. Drexel cruised to a 93-59 victory over Widener on Monday, while Saint Joseph’s held off Lafayette for an 85-76 win the same afternoon.

The Dragons were powered by a double-double from Josh Reed, who scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the opener. Kevon Vanderhorst added nine points, seven rebounds and six assists.

The Hawks’ offense was led by Jaiden Glover-Toscano, who poured in 23 points and collected nine rebounds in the win over Lafayette. Anthony Finkley added 15 points.

The game is part of a challenging early-season schedule for both programs. Drexel will travel to face Colgate on Tuesday, while Saint Joseph’s has a road test at Virginia Tech next Wednesday.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 8, at Hagan Arena on the campus of Saint Joseph’s University.
