Bethune-Cookman at Miami (Fla.)

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Interstat) — The Miami Hurricanes look to build on a season-opening win when they host the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats in a non-conference men’s basketball game Thursday night at the Watsco Center.

Miami (1-0) cruised to an 86-69 victory over Jacksonville in its opener on Monday. Ernest Udeh Jr. recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Malik Reneau led all scorers with 20 points.

Bethune-Cookman (0-1) arrives after a hard-fought 95-90 overtime loss on the road against Auburn, also on Monday. The Wildcats showcased a potent offensive trio in the defeat, with Quentin Heady scoring 21 points and Arterio Morris adding 20 points and 10 rebounds. Daniel Rouzan contributed 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

The game marks the first of a challenging early-season road stretch for the Wildcats, who will play eight of their next nine games away from home.

For the Hurricanes, it is the second of a five-game homestand to open the season. Miami will host Stetson on Nov. 10 before a neutral-site showdown with in-state rival Florida on Nov. 16 in Jacksonville.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
