UNC Asheville at Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. (Interstat) — The Wichita State Shockers and UNC Asheville Bulldogs will each look to start a new season on a positive note when they meet in a non-conference men’s basketball game Tuesday at Charles Koch Arena.

Both teams enter the 2025-26 season opener with 0-0 records, looking to move past their final results from the previous campaign. UNC Asheville last played on March 8, 2025, falling 86-67 to Winthrop. Wichita State’s most recent outing was a 79-89 loss at Oklahoma State on March 18, 2025.

The game marks the beginning of a challenging early stretch for the visiting Bulldogs, who will play eight of their first 10 games away from home. Their upcoming schedule includes a Nov. 8 trip to Georgia Southern and a Dec. 6 visit to ACC foe North Carolina State.

The Shockers, under the direction of head coach Paul Mills, will look to establish momentum at home before embarking on their own road tests. Following the opener, Wichita State will host Prairie View on Nov. 8 before a key early-season road game at Boise State on Nov. 18.

Tuesday’s contest will be the first meeting between the two programs. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CST.
