Georgia Southern at East Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. (Interstat) — The East Carolina Pirates and Georgia Southern Eagles will tip off their 2025-26 men’s basketball seasons against each other on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Williams Arena.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, looking for a fresh start after concluding the previous season with losses in March. The Eagles fell 80-71 at in-state rival Georgia State on March 6, while the Pirates dropped their finale 94-77 at UAB on March 14.

The game marks the official debut for both programs, setting the tone for challenging non-conference schedules. For Georgia Southern, the matchup is the first of a daunting five-game stretch away from home, with upcoming road contests against Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Tech and Florida State.

East Carolina will also face a significant test in its second game, traveling to face Richmond on Saturday. The Pirates’ early schedule includes a high-profile neutral-site game against Michigan State on Nov. 25.

Tuesday’s season opener provides an early opportunity for either team to build momentum before the grind of the season begins in earnest.
