KAZAN (Interstat) — Ak Bars Kazan will return home to host Barys Astana in a Kontinental Hockey League game Wednesday at TatNeft Arena in Kazan. Ak Bars brings a 6-4 record into the matchup, while Barys is 5-4.

Barys, the visiting team, is coming off a 5-3 home loss to SKA Saint Petersburg. Vsevolod Logvin scored two goals and put three shots on net in that game. Semyon Simonov added a goal and three shots, and Kirill Lyapunov had an assist and two shots. Barys has earned road wins at Dynamo Moscow, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Lada Togliatti. The club also dropped road games at Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.

Logvin has produced two goals and three shots against SKA Saint Petersburg, an assist and two shots against Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, and an assist and two shots at Dynamo Moscow. He recorded one shot and two hits at Lada Togliatti, two shots against Amur Khabarovsk, and an assist with five shots and one hit against Salavat Yulaev Ufa.

Ak Bars, the home team, enters after a 2-1 loss at Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Kirill Semyonov scored and recorded four shots in the defeat. Semyon Terekhov added an assist and four shots, while Nikita Dynyak contributed four shots and one hit. Ak Bars owns recent wins over Traktor Chelyabinsk, Admiral Vladivostok and Sibir Novosibirsk. The club also won in overtime at Salavat Yulaev Ufa and in a shootout at Sibir Novosibirsk.

Barys will next travel to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk before visiting Spartak Moscow. Barys will also visit Amur Khabarovsk, Admiral Vladivostok and Dinamo Minsk in its next stretch. Ak Bars will next host Traktor Chelyabinsk before welcoming Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Ak Bars will also host Severstal Cherepovets and HC Sochi and visit Shanghai Dragons and Dinamo Minsk. Both teams continue the early portion of the KHL schedule.
