ASTANA (Interstat) — Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk beat Barys Astana 6-3 in a Kontinental Hockey League game Friday at Barys Arena. Sevastyan Sokolov and Damir Zhafyarov each had one goal and one assist. Sokolov had two shots, and Zhafyarov had three. Yaroslav Ozolin made 25 saves on 28 shots. Grigory Seleznyov scored and had four shots. Ivan Nikolishin added two assists. Rafael Bikmullin had three assists and two shots. Vsevolod Logvin had one assist and two shots for Barys. Semyon Simonov scored and had two shots. German Tochilkin scored and had two shots. Artur Tyanulin scored, had three shots and four penalty minutes. Alexander Petunin also scored for Neftekhimik. Barys also got goals from Garrett Pilon and Alikhan Omirbekov. Neftekhimik improved to 6-3, while Barys fell to 5-3 before 11,237. Neftekhimik led 5-0 before Barys rallied, but Tyanulin’s third-period goal restored control. Zhafyarov was Neftekhimik’s top star.
