NIZHNY NOVGOROD (Interstat) — Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod will host CSKA Moscow in a Kontinental Hockey League game Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at Trade Union Sport Palace in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. CSKA enters as the visiting team with a 2-3 record. Torpedo is 4-1.

CSKA will look to Alexander Samonov in net. Samonov’s most recent outing came Sept. 16 at HC Sochi, a 4-0 win in which he stopped all 15 shots he faced. In that CSKA victory, Maxim Sorkin scored two goals and Yegor Zamula recorded three assists.

Torpedo counters with Denis Kostin. On Sept. 14 against Ak Bars Kazan, Kostin made 23 saves on 25 shots in a 3-2 win. He made 24 saves on 26 shots in a 3-0 loss at CSKA on Sept. 9, 23 saves on 26 shots in a 4-3 win at Dinamo Minsk on Sept. 7, and all 29 saves in a 1-0 win at Spartak Moscow on Sept. 5.

The teams met earlier this month, with CSKA beating Torpedo 3-0 on Sept. 9 in Moscow. Torpedo has won four of five games and will try to reverse that result on home ice.
