MOSCOW (Interstat) — Two struggling KHL clubs will meet on Thursday when CSKA Moscow hosts Lada Togliatti at the CSKA Ice Palace.

The matchup features teams at the bottom of the Kontinental Hockey League standings. The home side, CSKA, holds a 12-17 record across all competitions, while the visiting Lada is 10-19.

Lada arrives in the capital with momentum from a 5-3 road victory over HC Sochi on Tuesday. Forwards Andrei Altybarmakyan and Riley Sawchuk, along with defenseman Artyom Zemchyonok, powered the offense in that win. Despite the recent success, Lada has lost seven of its last 10 contests.

CSKA looks to rebound from a 4-1 home loss to SKA Saint Petersburg on Monday. Denis Guryanov provided the lone goal for the Red Army team, which has also struggled, posting just three wins in its last 10 outings.

The game is the first of two regular-season meetings between the clubs. They are scheduled to meet again in Togliatti on Dec. 16.
