Red Star Kunlun at HC Sochi
SOCHI, Russia (Interstat) — The Shanghai Dragons, riding a two-game winning streak, will face a struggling HC Sochi squad in a Kontinental Hockey League matchup on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at the Bolshoy Ice Dome.
The Dragons (12-11-0) enter the contest following a 3-2 overtime victory over SKA Saint Petersburg on Wednesday. Their recent form has been inconsistent, with a 4-1 win over Dynamo Moscow on Monday preceding losses to Severstal Cherepovets and Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
Sochi (5-17-0) looks to halt a four-game skid, most recently a 5-3 loss to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod on Wednesday. The team has been outscored 18-6 during its current losing streak and has managed just five victories all season.
Shanghai goaltender Ilya Samsonov, who made 30 saves in the win over SKA, is expected to start. Forward Fyodor Avramov, who scored in that game, will be relied upon for offensive production.
The game presents a clear contrast in fortunes. Shanghai aims to climb the Eastern Conference standings, while Sochi desperately seeks to reverse its course near the bottom of the Western Conference. Following this game, Shanghai continues a road trip at Sibir Novosibirsk on Monday, while Sochi hosts Barys Astana.
