Red Star Kunlun at Dynamo Moscow
MOSCOW (Interstat) — The Shanghai Dragons, coming off an overtime victory, look to carry that momentum against a formidable Dynamo Moscow squad when the Kontinental Hockey League teams meet Monday at VTB Ice Palace.
Shanghai (11-11) is 2-2-0 in its last four games, including a 3-2 overtime win at SKA Saint Petersburg on Wednesday. Forwards Jordan Weal and Dylan Sikura, who each had a goal and an assist in that contest, will be key to the Dragons’ offense.
Dynamo Moscow (14-8), however, presents a significant challenge. The home team has won three of the four meetings between the clubs this season, including a decisive 5-1 victory in Shanghai on Oct. 28. Their most recent encounter was a 3-2 shootout win for Dynamo on Oct. 16.
The Dragons’ lone victory in the season series was a 3-2 home win on Oct. 14.
Dynamo is looking to rebound from a 3-2 loss to SKA Saint Petersburg on Saturday. Despite the defeat, they have secured points in seven of their last 10 games.
The game is the start of a three-game road trip for Shanghai, which next plays at HC Sochi on Saturday. Dynamo begins a two-game road swing at Ak Bars Kazan on Thursday.
