Lada Togliatti at Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia (Interstat) — The struggling Lada Togliatti look to halt a three-game slide when they visit Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in a Kontinental Hockey League matchup Sunday at Trade Union Sport Palace.

Lada (4-11) has been outscored 9-1 in its last two contests, including a 3-0 loss at Amur Khabarovsk on Friday. Goaltender Ivan Bocharov made 26 saves in the defeat, while forward Vladislav Chervonenko registered four of the team’s 22 shots on goal.

Torpedo (8-8) is also seeking to rebound after a 1-0 shutout loss at home to CSKA Moscow on Friday. The team has split its last six games.

The home team has won both previous meetings this season. Torpedo earned a 5-1 victory in Togliatti on Sept. 18, and held off Lada for a 4-3 win in Nizhny Novgorod on Sept. 12.

Lada’s recent road struggles, where they have lost four of their last five away from home, will be tested against a Torpedo squad that is 5-3 on home ice this season. The game is the first of three consecutive meetings between the divisional rivals over the next two weeks.
