CSKA Moscow at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl
YAROSLAVL, Russia (Interstat) — A struggling CSKA Moscow looks to reverse its fortunes and avenge a recent blowout loss when it visits the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in a Kontinental Hockey League match on Wednesday.
The game at Arena 2000 pits a CSKA squad (5-8-0) mired in a slump against a Lokomotiv team (9-6-0) seeking to rebound on home ice after a pair of road losses.
Lokomotiv enters the contest with momentum from the last head-to-head meeting, having routed CSKA 5-1 in Moscow on Sept. 18. However, the home team is coming off a 4-3 loss at Severstal Cherepovets on Monday.
CSKA, meanwhile, has lost three of its last four games, including a 3-2 defeat to Ak Bars Kazan on Sunday. Defenseman Jeremy Roy scored a goal in that loss, and forward Daniel Sprong added an assist.
Lokomotiv’s upcoming schedule includes a home game against SKA Saint Petersburg on Saturday. CSKA’s next contest is on the road against Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod on Friday.
