Amur Khabarovsk at Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk

NIZHNEKAMSK, Russia (Interstat) — The struggling Amur Khabarovsk (3-8-0) face a difficult road test against Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk (7-5-0) in a Kontinental Hockey League matchup Tuesday at SCC Arena.

Amur arrives mired in a three-game losing skid, having been outscored 11-3 during the stretch. They are coming off a 3-1 loss to Ak Bars Kazan on Sunday, where Oleg Li scored the team’s lone goal and goaltender Maxim Dorozhko made 33 saves on 35 shots. The team has struggled to find consistent offense, managing just one win in its last seven contests.

Neftekhimik looks to rebound on home ice after a 5-2 loss to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on Saturday. Despite the recent setback, the home team has been strong this season, boasting a positive record and notable victories, including a 5-4 overtime win against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and a 2-1 road win over Dynamo Moscow. Forwards Nikita Khoruzhev and Vladislav Y. Barulin, who each scored in the loss to Avtomobilist, will be key to reigniting the offense.

The game is the first of a back-to-back set between the clubs, who will meet again at SCC Arena on Thursday.
