GWANGJU (Interstat) — The Samsung Lions defeated the Kia Tigers 6-4 in Game 3 of their playoff series on Thursday evening at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. Samsung leads the playoff series 2-1 after collecting 10 hits to Kia’s nine. Lee Jae-hee pitched two scoreless innings with one strikeout for Samsung. Shirakawa Keisho allowed four earned runs over 4 1/3 innings with four strikeouts for Kia. Lee Seung-min threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings for Samsung. Lewin Díaz went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, Jeon Sang-hyun threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings for Kia, and Ryu Ji-hyuk went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Won Tae-in allowed one earned run in 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts for Samsung. Kia scored twice in the first and once in the second and fifth, while Samsung scored twice in the fourth and sixth. Samsung improved to 83-59-3, and Kia fell to 82-65-2.
