KT at Samsung

DAEGU, South Korea (Interstat) — The Samsung Lions and KT Wiz meet Saturday in an afternoon-evening game at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, with the Lions holding a 56.20 percent win probability according to Interstat’s ELO system, though Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-5 victory for KT.

Samsung (42-30-2) sits just percentage points behind KT (43-30-1) in a tightly packed KBO standings race. First pitch is set for Saturday, June 27, 2026, under cloudy skies with temperatures around 74 degrees Fahrenheit.

The matchup features two pitchers coming off strong outings in the series opener Friday, which Samsung won 9-1. KT right-hander Oh Won-seok (6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 9 K in that loss) gets the start for the Wiz. Over his last four starts, Oh has been inconsistent: He allowed five earned runs in 3.0 innings against the Kia Tigers on June 19, and seven earned runs in 5.0 innings at Shinsegae Landers on June 7, but he logged a quality start against the NC Dinos on June 13 (5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 4 K).

Samsung counters with Jang Chan-hee, who earned the win Friday with 5.0 innings of one-run ball, striking out four while scattering five hits. Jang’s recent outings have fluctuated: He was tagged for six earned runs in 3.1 innings at Hanwha on June 20, but he also threw 5.1 innings of one-run ball against the Landers on June 12, and worked a scoreless 5.1-inning relief appearance against Kia on June 6, striking out four.

The head-to-head trend favors Samsung, which has won six of the last nine meetings, including five of the last seven overall. The Lions have outscored KT 52-27 during that stretch. KT’s only wins in the recent series came June 9 (5-2) and June 10 (4-3).

In Friday’s win, Sam Hilliard went 1-for-4 with a home run and an RBI for KT. For Samsung, Lewin Díaz homered and drove in three, and reliever Im Gi-yeong struck out three in a scoreless inning.

The Wiz enter riding a 1-1 split after splitting a series with the Shinsegae Landers earlier in the week, while Samsung took two of three from the LG Twins before the series opener.

KT hosts Samsung again Sunday to close the three-game set before traveling to face the Hanwha Eagles. Samsung heads to NC Dinos after the series.
