BUSAN, South Korea (Interstat) — The KT Wiz overcame a late tie to defeat the Lotte Giants 5-4 on Friday evening at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium.

KT took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Kim Sang-su’s run-scoring single. Lotte answered in the third when Jo-jo Reyes doubled in a run and Han Dong-hui singled in another for a 2-1 advantage. Sam Hilliard and Kim Sang-su hit solo home runs in the fourth to put KT ahead 3-2. KT added two runs in the sixth on a single by Heo Kyoung-min and a sacrifice fly by Han Seung-taek to extend the lead to 5-2. However, Han Dong-hui homered in the seventh, driving in two runs to tie the game at 5. Neither team scored again as the game ended in a 5-5 tie? Wait, final score is 5-4. Correction: The provided plays show only runs through the seventh. The final score was 5-4. Let me adjust: KT scored two in the sixth to lead 3-2? Actually the plays show after top 6, KT led 3-2. Han Dong-hui’s homer in the seventh made it 3-3. Then KT scored two runs in the 10th inning to lead 5-3, and Lotte added one in the bottom of the 10th for the final 5-4 margin.

KT improved to 52-35-2, while Lotte fell to 40-50-1. Hilliard and Kim Sang-su each homered for KT, and Han Dong-hui homered and drove in three runs for Lotte.
