Lotte at Doosan
SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The Doosan Bears host the Lotte Giants on Tuesday evening at Jamsil Stadium, with first pitch scheduled under partly cloudy skies and a temperature of 81 degrees.
Doosan (38-38-3) enters the game looking to split the season series after dropping two of three in the most recent meetings in Busan two weeks ago. Lotte (33-41-2) arrives after a dramatic 11-9 win over the LG Twins on Sunday, snapping a two-game losing streak.
Players to watch
Lotte first baseman Go Seung-min is the hottest hitter in the lineup. He went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs in Sunday’s victory, his second multi-hit performance in the past four games. Over his last 10 appearances, Go is batting .300 with 10 RBIs.
Doosan right-hander Park Shin-zi has been effective out of the bullpen despite the team’s recent struggles. In his last four relief outings, Park has allowed one earned run over 7 2/3 innings with six strikeouts. He enters after taking a loss Sunday against Kia, giving up one run on three hits over 2 2/3 innings.
Series history
The teams have split eight meetings this season, with Doosan holding a 5-3 edge. The Bears won the last matchup 12-7 on June 11 in Busan. At Jamsil, the home team has won four of five meetings this year, including three of four during a series in May. Two of those games were decided by one run, including a 10-9, 11-inning thriller on May 16.
Projection
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-4 Lotte victory. The ELO system gives Doosan a 56.40 percent probability of winning.
Up next
The two teams continue the three-game set Wednesday and Thursday before Lotte travels to face the KT Wiz for three games and Doosan visits the Kiwoom Heroes for three.
