Kia at KT

SUWON, South Korea (Interstat) – The Kia Tigers and KT Wiz close their three-game series Saturday afternoon at Suwon Baseball Stadium with first pitch scheduled under a 74-degree Fahrenheit forecast that carries a chance of rain.

KT (40-27) leads the KBO standings and holds a 4-3 edge in the season series against Kia (37-32-1). The Tigers won Friday’s opener 11-3, snapping a two-game skid and evening the weekend set. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 victory for the Wiz, with the ELO system giving KT a 54.6 percent probability to win.

Kia’s Harold Castro enters as the team’s hottest hitter. The designated hitter went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs in Friday’s win and was 2-for-4 on Thursday against the LG Twins. Over his past two games, Castro is 5-for-9 with a home run and four RBIs.

For KT, first baseman Lee Jeong-hun provides a power threat. He went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in Friday’s loss, though he has been inconsistent, going 1-for-4 in his previous four games combined. Lee has two RBIs over his last 10 contests.

Starters for Saturday were not announced. The rain in the forecast could disrupt the afternoon start, potentially forcing a delay or affecting bullpen strategy for both clubs.

Kia and KT meet again Sunday to conclude the series. Kia then travels to face Kiwoom on Tuesday. KT returns home to host Shinsegae Landers.
