KT at Doosan
SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The KT Wiz look to continue their recent dominance over the Doosan Bears on Thursday evening at Jamsil Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The forecast calls for rain and 84-degree temperatures.
KT (40-25-1) enters the game having won the first two games of this series, outscoring the Bears 14-3. The Wiz sit atop the KBO standings, while Doosan (33-33-2) remains at .500.
Right-hander Matthew Sauer is expected to take the mound for KT. Sauer (6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 5 K) earned the win in Wednesday’s 8-1 victory over the Bears. Over his last five starts, he owns a 4-1 record with a 2.93 ERA across 30.2 innings, striking out 21.
Doosan will counter with reliever Kim Dong-ju, who is likely to work multiple innings in a bullpen game. Kim tossed 1.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts in Wednesday’s loss. He has allowed one run over his last 5.1 innings across four appearances.
The matchup heavily favors the Wiz. KT has won four of the last five meetings between the clubs, including three consecutive victories at Jamsil. The Bears’ lone win in that stretch was a 5-0 shutout on May 27.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-4 KT victory, and the ELO system gives the Wiz a 54.2% win probability.
After Thursday’s contest, KT returns home for a three-game series against the Kia Tigers starting Friday. Doosan travels to face the LG Twins.
