Kiwoom at Doosan

SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The Doosan Bears host the Kiwoom Heroes on Saturday in the second game of a weekend series at Jamsil Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon.

Doosan enters with a 28-28-1 record, while Kiwoom sits at 21-37-1.

The Bears won Friday’s series opener 4-3, capped by a walk-off victory. Right-hander Choi Seung-yong earned the win, tossing 6⅔ scoreless innings while allowing four hits and striking out nine. He has been sharp recently, posting a 1.80 ERA over his past two outings spanning 10⅔ innings.

Kiwoom counters with right-hander Ha Yeong-min, who took the loss Friday despite a solid start: 5 innings, six hits, one earned run with two strikeouts. Ha has been inconsistent this season, but has logged quality starts in two of his last four appearances.

The Bears hold a 4-2 edge in the season series. Doosan has won four of the last five meetings, including two blowout wins in early May: 14-3 and 16-6.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-1 Doosan victory, and the ELO system gives the Bears a 65.3% probability of winning.

Clear skies and 76 degrees are expected for game time.

Following Saturday’s contest, the teams meet again Sunday. The Heroes then return home for a three-game set against NC Dinos, while the Bears travel to face the Lotte Giants.
