Lotte at Doosan
SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The Doosan Bears host the Lotte Giants on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game Korea Baseball Organization series at Jamsil Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. under clear skies with a game-time temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
Doosan (19-22-1) enters with a one-game edge over Lotte (16-23-1) in the standings. The series is tied 1-1 after a pair of one-run decisions.
Saturday’s game was an 11-inning thriller. Doosan won 10-9 after Lotte’s Na Seung-yeup went 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs, falling a triple short of the cycle. The Giants had won Friday’s opener 6-5.
Na is 6-for-7 with two homers, six RBIs and a walk in the series. Over his past eight games, he is batting .464 with 13 hits, two homers and 11 RBIs.
Doosan counters with reliever Yang Jae-hun, who has been dominant in the series. On Saturday, he pitched two scoreless innings with five strikeouts. In Friday’s loss, he allowed one earned run over one inning. Overall, he has given up one earned run in his past 8 1/3 innings over four appearances.
The Bears’ bullpen has been a strength, with Yang and Kim Jeong-woo — who threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings Saturday — anchoring the late innings.
Lotte has struggled to a 4-6 record in its past 10 games, while Doosan is 6-4 in its past 10.
The Giants have won three of the past five meetings between the teams, though Doosan holds a 3-2 edge in the season series.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-3 victory for Lotte. The ELO system gives Doosan a 56.6 percent probability to win.
Following Sunday’s game, Lotte travels to Hanwha for a three-game series starting Tuesday. Doosan hosts NC for a three-game set beginning Tuesday.
