Doosan Bears blank Samsung Lions 4‑0 at Jamsil

SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — Zach Logue threw six scoreless innings and An Jae-seok homered as the Doosan Bears shut out the Samsung Lions 4-0 on Wednesday night at Jamsil Stadium.

He retired nine of the last 10 batters he faced. The left-hander improved to 2-3 as Doosan snapped a two-game losing streak and moved to 11-15. Samsung fell to 13-12-1.

Doosan added a run in the fifth. Lee Yu-chan walked, advanced on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a single by Cameron to make it 3-0.

An Jae-seok provided the final margin in the seventh, leading off with a home run to center field off Samsung reliever Bae Chan-seung. It was An’s first homer of the season. He finished 2-for-4.

Samsung threatened in the third inning when Kim Sung-yoon walked and stole second and third, but Lewin Diaz fouled out to end the inning. Kim Hun-gon had two hits for Samsung, including a double in the first. Kim Do-hwan doubled in the eighth, but the Lions could not push a run across.

Doosan’s bullpen closed the door. Yang Jae-hun, Lee Young-ha and Kim Jeong-woo each threw a scoreless inning. Lee Young-ha struck out three in the eighth.

The attendance was 23,750.

The Bears and Lions meet again Thursday in the second game of their three-game series at Jamsil. Samsung then returns home to face the Hanwha Eagles, while Doosan travels to take on the Kiwoom Heroes.
