LG at KT
SUWON, South Korea (Interstat) — The first-place KT Wiz host the second-place LG Twins on Tuesday evening at Suwon Baseball Stadium, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. under cloudy skies and 59 degrees.
KT (17-8) holds a one-game lead over LG (16-8-1) in the early-season standings. The Wiz won the two most recent meetings between the clubs, beating the Twins 6-5 and 11-7 on March 28-29 at LG’s home ballpark.
LG outfielder Song Chan-eui enters the series playing his best baseball. In his past seven games, Song is batting .412 (7-for-17) with two home runs and six RBIs. He went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs in LG’s 4-3, 10-inning loss at Doosan on Sunday, and had a 2-for-3, two-RBI outing against Hanwha on April 22.
KT counter with outfielder Sam Hilliard, who enjoyed a huge weekend. Hilliard went 2-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs in Sunday’s 12-2 win at Shinsegae, part of a stretch in which he has driven in seven runs over his last four games.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-5 KT victory. The ELO system gives LG a 53.6 percent win probability. The Twins enter as a pregame favorite at plus-1.5 on the spread, with the over/under set at 9.0 runs.
The series continues Wednesday and Thursday in Suwon.
