Doosan at Lotte

Struggling KBO Clubs Meet as Doosan Visits Lotte

BUSAN, South Korea (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum will open a series when the Doosan Bears face the Lotte Giants on Tuesday evening at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium.

The Bears (7-11-1) arrive after taking two of three from the Kia Tigers, including a 6-3 win Sunday powered by a two-homer, three-RBI performance from second baseman Park Jun-soon. Park is a key figure in Doosan’s lineup, batting .357 (15-for-42) with three homers and eight RBIs over his last 10 games.

The Giants (6-12-1), meanwhile, are looking to rebound from a rough weekend where they were outscored 14-1 in two losses to the Hanwha Eagles. Right-hander Park Se-woong is slated to start for Lotte. He has pitched decently despite a lack of support, posting a 2.70 ERA over his last three starts, but has an 0-3 record in that span. In his most recent outing, last Sunday, he allowed two earned runs over five innings in the 9-1 loss.

The weather forecast calls for cloudy skies and a game-time temperature of 66 degrees Fahrenheit (19 Celsius).

Despite Lotte’s recent struggles, Interstat’s ELO rating system gives the Giants a narrow 51.3% probability to win. However, the same service’s game simulator projects a 4-3 victory for the visiting Bears.

The series continues with games on Wednesday and Thursday in Busan before both clubs embark on different paths. Doosan returns home to host the LG Twins next weekend, while Lotte hits the road for a series against the Kia Tigers.
