Kiwoom at KT

SUWON-SI, South Korea (Interstat) — The KT Wiz look to continue their dominance over the struggling Kiwoom Heroes when the teams conclude their three-game series Sunday evening at Suwon Baseball Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time under clear skies with a game-time temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 Celsius).

The Wiz (13-5), leaders in the Korea Baseball Organization standings, have handily won the first two games of the series, 5-0 on Friday and 4-2 on Saturday. They have won four straight overall.

The Heroes (4-14), mired in last place, have lost five consecutive games and 14 of their last 16. They will turn to right-hander Bae Dong-hyun in an attempt to avoid the sweep.

Bae has been a bright spot for Kiwoom, earning wins in three of his last four starts. However, he took the loss Saturday against KT, allowing three earned runs on six hits over 4 1/3 innings. In his previous start on April 12, he threw six shutout innings in a win over the Lotte Giants.

KT counters with American right-hander Caleb Boushley, who is riding a four-game winning streak to open the season. Boushley earned the win in Saturday’s contest, holding the Heroes to two runs over six innings of work. In 23 innings this season, he has posted a 0.78 ERA with 21 strikeouts.

The pitching matchup is a quick rematch of Saturday’s game, where Boushley outdueled Bae.

According to Interstat, the Wiz are heavy favorites with a 72.5% probability to win. Their game simulator projects a 6-1 victory for KT.

Following the game, KT will host the Kia Tigers for a three-game series starting Tuesday. Kiwoom returns home to face the NC Dinos, also beginning Tuesday.
