Preview: KT Wiz at NC Dinos
CHANGWON-SI, South Korea (Interstat) — The surging KT Wiz, led by a dominant stretch from starter Caleb Boushley, visit the struggling NC Dinos in a Tuesday evening matchup at Masan Baseball Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time under cloudy skies with temperatures around 66 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Wiz (9-4) enter with the better record, having won two of three against the Doosan Bears over the weekend. Their 6-1 victory on Sunday was anchored by Boushley, who continued his stellar start to the season. The right-hander has not allowed an earned run in his last three starts, spanning 17 innings with 17 strikeouts. Over that stretch, KT has won all three games.
Conversely, the Dinos (6-7) are mired in a five-game losing skid after being swept in a three-game series at Samsung over the weekend. NC’s offense has been inconsistent during the slide, a trend exemplified by outfielder Lee Woo-sung. While Lee homered in Sunday’s 9-3 loss, he is just 4 for his last 26 at-bats.
KT’s lineup will look to build on its recent power display, having scored six or more runs in six of its nine wins this season. NC will counter hoping to rediscover its early-season form after opening the year with a 6-2 record before its current slump.
According to Interstat, the Wiz are a narrow favorite with a 52.2% probability to win. The service’s game simulator projects a 6-3 victory for KT.
This game opens a three-game series between the clubs. They will meet again Wednesday and Thursday in Changwon before each embarks on a new weekend series.
