Hanwha at Shinsegae

INCHEON, South Korea (Interstat) — The Hanwha Eagles look to build on a strong road victory when they face the Shinsegae Landers again Wednesday night at Munhak Baseball Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time under clear skies with a game-time temperature of 49 degrees Fahrenheit (9 degrees Celsius).

The Eagles (5-4) evened the series with a 6-2 win Tuesday, powered by a dominant start from veteran left-hander Ryu Hyun-jin. He allowed two earned runs on four hits while striking out 10 over six innings to earn the win. Hanwha will seek another strong outing to secure the series lead against the first-place Landers (7-2).

Shinsegae, despite Tuesday’s loss, has been one of the league’s hottest teams early, winning seven of its first nine games. Its bullpen has been a key strength, with reliever Jeon Young-jun emerging as a reliable arm. In Tuesday’s defeat, Jeon fired two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. For the season, he has appeared in six games, posting a 2.16 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings.

The Landers’ offense, which erupted for 17 runs in a win over Lotte on April 3, was held in check by Ryu a day ago. They will aim to rebound against Hanwha’s Wednesday starter.

According to projections from Interstat, the Landers are slight favorites. The analytics firm’s game simulator predicts a 7-4 Shinsegae victory, and its ELO rating system gives the Landers a 52.3% probability to win.

The series concludes Thursday in Incheon before both clubs embark on new weekend matchups. Hanwha will host the Kia Tigers for a three-game set starting Friday, while Shinsegae travels to face the LG Twins.
