Hanwha at Doosan
SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The surging Hanwha Eagles will look to complete a road sweep of the struggling Doosan Bears when the KBO League rivals meet Sunday afternoon at Jamsil Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. local time under cloudy skies with a temperature near 66 degrees Fahrenheit (19 Celsius).
Hanwha (4-3) has won the first two games of this series decisively, outscoring Doosan 20-9. The Eagles have won four of their last five, while the Bears (1-5) are mired in a five-game losing streak after opening the season with a win.
A key matchup will feature Hanwha starter Wang Yan-cheng against a Doosan bullpen that includes Lee Yong-chan. Wang is coming off a dominant performance against these same Bears on Saturday, allowing no earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in a 9-3 victory. In his previous start, he earned a win over the Kiwoom Heroes.
For Doosan, reliever Lee Yong-chan has been a frequent appearance in the series, pitching in both losses. He threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings with three strikeouts on Saturday after a scoreless frame on Friday. The Bears will need length from their starter to avoid overworking a bullpen that has been heavily used during the skid.
According to Interstat, Hanwha is projected as the favorite with a 55.9% probability to win. Their game simulator predicts a 4-2 Eagles victory.
After the series concludes, Hanwha will travel to face the Shinsegae Landers for a three-game set starting Tuesday. Doosan remains at home to host the Kiwoom Heroes for three games beginning Tuesday.
