SUWON-SI, South Korea (Interstat) — Ariel Jurado outdueled Matthew Sauer as the Samsung Lions edged the KT Wiz 2-1 on Friday night in a game that defied high-scoring projections.

Jurado allowed one run on five hits over six innings, earning the win before Kim Jae-yoon secured the save before 18,700 at Suwon Baseball Stadium. Sauer took the loss despite a quality start, also going six innings and surrendering two runs.

Sam Hilliard provided KT’s only run with a solo homer in the second inning. Samsung answered with a sacrifice fly from Kim Sung-yoon in the third and an RBI triple from Ryu Ji-hyuk in the sixth.

The victory improved Samsung to 3-2-1, while KT fell to 5-1.
