Dinos Ride Early Offense, Stellar Pitching to Down Tigers
GWANGJU, South Korea (Interstat) — The NC Dinos capitalized on a five-run first inning and stifling pitching to defeat the Kia Tigers 5-2 on Friday evening at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field.
Park Min-woo led the Dinos’ eight-hit attack, driving in three runs, including a two-run double in the decisive first. NC starter Koo Chang-mo and four relievers combined to limit the Tigers to just three hits before a crowd of 20,500.
Kia’s only runs came in the eighth on Han Jun-su’s solo homer and a Harold Castro groundout. The loss dropped the Tigers to 1-5, while the first-place Dinos improved to 5-1. The teams continue their series Saturday.
