Kia at LG

SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The Kia Tigers and LG Twins, both seeking to climb out of identical early-season holes, will conclude a three-game series at Jamsil Stadium on Thursday evening.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time under cloudy skies with temperatures around 58 degrees Fahrenheit (14 degrees Celsius).

Both clubs enter the finale with 1-3 records, having split the first two games of this set. The Twins evened the series with a 7-2 victory on Wednesday, a day after the Tigers claimed a 7-2 win of their own on Tuesday.

A key player to watch for Kia will be reliever Cho Sang-woo, who provided 1 2/3 scoreless innings in Wednesday’s loss. However, his season has been inconsistent, as he failed to record an out while allowing a run in a appearance against the Shinsegae Landers on March 28.

LG will look for another strong outing from Song Seung-ki, who earned the win Wednesday with 4 1/3 innings of relief, allowing one earned run and striking out four.

According to Interstat, the Twins are projected as strong favorites. Their game simulator predicts a 4-3 LG victory, while their ELO rating system gives the Twins a 64.7% probability to win. LG has been installed as a -1.5 run favorite on the spread, and the over/under for total runs is set at 9.5.

The Tigers’ most productive hitter in Wednesday’s defeat was Oh Sun-woo, who hit a solo home run.

Following Thursday’s game, Kia will return home to Gwangju to begin a three-game series against the NC Dinos on Friday. The Twins will hit the road for a three-game set against the Kiwoom Heroes in Seoul, beginning Friday.
