Greensboro vs. Osceola
Top-Seed Showdown Set for Silver Spurs Arena
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — A battle for G League supremacy is set for Sunday when the Osceola Magic host the Greensboro Swarm with identical records and playoff positioning on the line.
The matchup at Silver Spurs Arena features the Eastern Conference’s top two teams, each at 36-16. The winner will claim sole possession of first place with just over a week remaining in the regular season.
Greensboro arrives riding a two-game win streak, most recently a 118-108 victory over the Capital City Go-Go on Friday. Forward Tidjane Salaun led the way with 24 points and 11 rebounds, his second double-double in three games. The Swarm have won seven of their last 10.
Osceola counters with momentum of its own, having won eight of its last nine, including a 123-116 triumph over the Motor City Cruise on Friday. Point guard Reece Beekman has been the engine, averaging 11.9 points and 8.1 assists over his last nine contests. He posted 26 points and seven assists in the win over Motor City.
The season series favors Greensboro, which won both prior meetings. The Swarm edged the Magic 127-120 on March 13 and 125-123 in overtime on Jan. 17. In the March meeting, Osceola’s Beekman was limited to eight points in 28 minutes.
Sunday’s contest is a potential playoff preview, offering both teams a critical test against a conference rival. The Swarm will look to maintain their recent dominance in the head-to-head series, while the Magic aim to defend their home court and seize the conference lead.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT.
