Santa Cruz vs. Salt Lake City
SALT LAKE CITY (Interstat) — The Salt Lake City Stars, clinging to playoff positioning, will host the struggling Santa Cruz Warriors in a G League matchup on Tuesday, March 24, at Bruin Arena.
The Stars (26-24) enter on a five-game losing streak, most recently falling 116-101 to Raptors 905 on Monday. They will look to halt that slide against a Warriors squad (15-32) that has lost eight of its last ten games. Santa Cruz is coming off a 121-103 road loss to Stockton on Sunday.
Salt Lake City has dominated the season series, winning all four previous meetings. The most recent was a 126-113 Stars victory at home on Jan. 26.
A key matchup will feature two of the league’s top performers. Santa Cruz center Marques Bolden arrives in strong form, averaging 17.1 points and 7.8 rebounds over his last ten games. He is coming off a 22-point, six-rebound performance at Stockton.
For the Stars, guard Dereon Seabron has been a consistent force despite the team’s recent skid. Over his last ten contests, Seabron has averaged 18.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.7 assists, including a 30-point outing against Stockton on March 21.
The game represents a critical opportunity for Salt Lake City to stabilize its record and solidify its standing in the Western Conference playoff race. For Santa Cruz, it is a chance to play spoiler and build momentum before returning home for a two-game set against Texas later this week.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MDT Tuesday.
