OKLAHOMA CITY (Interstat) — Tristen Newton scored 43 points to lead the Rio Grande Valley Vipers to a 120-105 victory over the Oklahoma City Blue in a G League game Tuesday night at Cox Convention Center.

The Vipers seized control with a high-scoring first half, leading 74-59 at halftime. The Blue were held to just 15 points in the third quarter, allowing Rio Grande Valley to build an insurmountable advantage. Newton added four rebounds and two assists in 42 minutes for the Vipers, who improved to 29-19. Daishen Nix contributed 20 points and seven assists.

Zhaire Smith led Oklahoma City with 19 points. Nikola Topic had 14 points and eight assists for the Blue, who fell to 16-31.
