Delaware vs. Osceola

Preview: Blue Coats Visit Magic in G League Showdown

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Delaware Blue Coats look to snap a five-game road losing streak when they visit the Osceola Magic in a G League matchup on Saturday at Silver Spurs Arena.

The game is a quick rematch, as the Magic (30-15) edged the Blue Coats (19-25) 98-93 on Friday night. Delaware will aim to avoid a series sweep and build on its most recent performance, a 141-124 road victory over Cleveland on Wednesday.

That win was fueled by a standout performance from guard Kennedy Chandler, who will be a key player to watch for Delaware. Chandler scored 28 points and dished eight assists in 37 minutes against Cleveland. Over his last 10 games, he has averaged 18.4 points and 7.2 assists, including a 34-point, 10-assist effort in a win over Westchester on March 4.

Osceola counters with center Colin Castleton, who has been a dominant force in the paint. In Tuesday’s 129-109 win over Long Island, Castleton posted a monstrous 21-point, 18-rebound double-double in just 22 minutes. He has recorded a double-double in five of his last six appearances, averaging 17.8 points and 11.7 rebounds over that stretch.

The Magic have been one of the league’s stronger teams this season and enter Saturday’s contest having won seven of their last 10 games. Their offense has been potent, scoring 126 points or more in four of their last five victories.

Delaware’s road struggles are a central storyline, with the team having lost 10 of its last 12 games away from home prior to Wednesday’s win in Cleveland. Consistency has been an issue; the Blue Coats followed a three-game winning streak in late February and early March with a five-game skid before the Cleveland victory.

The season series now favors Osceola 1-0. Following this contest, Delaware continues its road trip with a game at Long Island on March 25. Osceola hits the road for a three-game trip starting March 25 at College Park.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EDT Saturday at Silver Spurs Arena.
