Austin vs. College Park
ATLANTA (Interstat) — In a high-octane G League shootout that defied pregame projections, the College Park Skyhawks outlasted the Austin Spurs 119-116 on Tuesday night at Gateway Center Arena.
The game, played on March 17, 2026, featured 12 lead changes and was not decided until the final possession. The outcome stood in stark contrast to statistical forecasts, which had heavily favored the visiting Spurs.
Austin, which entered with a 31-14 record, built an early lead behind a 38-point second quarter, taking a 58-67 advantage into halftime. College Park, now 14-29, had set the tone with a 34-point first quarter and weathered the Spurs’ offensive surge.
The Skyhawks reclaimed control in the third quarter, holding Austin to 32 points while scoring 23 of their own to narrow the gap. The final period became a tense back-and-forth affair, with neither team leading by more than a single possession in the closing minutes.
The most critical sequence unfolded in the final half-minute. With College Park leading 116-114, the Skyhawks’ RayJ Dennis connected on a 22-foot 3-pointer with 31 seconds remaining, assisted by Basheer Jihad, to push the lead to five. The Spurs’ Stanley Umude missed a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession, and after a Skyhawks turnover, Austin’s Elfrid Payton tipped in his own miss with 37 seconds left to cut the deficit to 119-116.
Following a College Park timeout, Austin forced a missed layup by Keshon Gilbert but could not secure the defensive rebound. The Skyhawks’ Devon Higgs grabbed the offensive board but immediately turned the ball over, giving the Spurs a final chance with 5.3 seconds left. Austin’s Adam Flagler’s potential game-tying 3-point attempt from 24 feet missed as time expired, and Dennis secured the defensive rebound to seal the victory for College Park.
The Skyhawks’ win was a collective effort, with key performances spread across the roster. Austin was led by the backcourt play of Jayden Nunn, but it was not enough to overcome a balanced College Park attack that executed in the final minute.
The Spurs, who had won seven of their last ten games, will continue a road trip at Noblesville on Friday. The Skyhawks, snapping a two-game skid, travel to face Westchester on Thursday.
