San Diego vs. Texas
G League Preview: San Diego Clippers at Texas Legends
FRISCO, Texas (Interstat) — The San Diego Clippers look to avenge a recent loss and solidify their playoff positioning when they visit the struggling Texas Legends on Monday night at Dr Pepper Arena.
The Clippers (24-20) enter the contest holding a winning record, but are coming off a 57-44 defeat to these same Legends just two days prior on Saturday. They rebounded with a 126-115 victory over Rip City on Thursday, led by a strong performance from guard TyTy Washington.
Washington remains the key player to watch for San Diego. He is averaging 24.0 points and 6.3 assists over his last three games, including a 39-point, 11-assist outburst in a win on March 11. His backcourt creation will be central to the Clippers’ offense.
Texas (15-28), despite its place near the bottom of the standings, has shown recent sparks, winning two of its last five. The Legends are powered by forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, who has been a consistent double-double threat. He is averaging 14.6 points and 13.2 rebounds over his last five contests, posting a 15-point, 15-rebound line in a narrow 122-119 loss to Austin on Thursday.
The Clippers’ supporting cast includes center Zach Freemantle, who recorded a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double in the last outing. For Texas, forward Dalano Banton provides a scoring punch, dropping 32 points in the team’s most recent game.
This matchup presents a contrast in momentum. San Diego has won four of its last six games overall, while Texas has dropped seven of its last ten. The Legends will aim to build on their defensive success from Saturday’s low-scoring win, while the Clippers seek to re-establish their offensive rhythm on the road.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CDT. Following this game, Texas will host Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday, while San Diego’s next contest is at home against Valley on Thursday.
