South Bay Lakers Pull Away Late, Sweep Two-Game Set From Iowa Wolves
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (Interstat) — The South Bay Lakers used a strong fourth quarter to defeat the Iowa Wolves 125-106 in a G League game Friday at UCLA Health Training Center.
The Lakers, who led 103-92 after three quarters, closed the game on a 22-14 run to secure the victory and complete a two-game series sweep after also winning Wednesday. South Bay improved to 28-15 while Iowa fell to 24-20.
South Bay established an early lead with 37 first-quarter points and maintained control throughout, answering every Iowa push. The Wolves were within 11 points entering the final period but could not close the gap.
Key performances included South Bay’s Adou Thiero and Iowa’s Joan Beringer. The Lakers shot efficiently from the floor to secure the win, which was in line with statistical pregame projections favoring South Bay.
