Texas vs. Austin

Preview: Texas Legends at Austin Spurs

LEANDER, Texas (Interstat) — The surging Austin Spurs (29-12) host the struggling Texas Legends (15-26) in a G League intrastate matchup on Thursday, March 12, at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

Austin, among the league’s elite, looks to continue its strong season and avenge a home loss to Texas from December. The Spurs are coming off a narrow 119-118 road win over Sioux Falls on March 8, powered by a versatile performance from forward Harrison Ingram, who had 15 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Ingram has been a consistent triple-double threat, recording a 16-point, 20-rebound, 14-assist game last month.

The Legends, however, enter with momentum from a two-game winning streak, including a 121-114 overtime victory at Salt Lake City on Monday. Swingman Miles Kelly erupted for 45 points in that win, continuing a hot stretch where he has averaged 32.7 points over his last three games. Texas will rely heavily on his scoring punch.

The season series is tied 1-1. Austin won the most recent meeting 104-95 on Feb. 4, but Texas claimed a 126-122 win in December.

The Spurs’ balance and superior record make them the favorite, but the Legends’ recent form and Kelly’s explosive scoring present a clear threat. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CDT.
