Rip City vs. San Diego
SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — A pivotal Western Conference G League matchup is set for Wednesday when the Rip City Remix visit the San Diego Clippers at Frontwave Arena.
The Remix (24-18) arrive with a slight edge in the standings over the Clippers (22-20), making this a crucial game for postseason positioning with the regular season winding down. The season series has favored the home team, with San Diego winning both contests in San Diego, including a 129-118 victory on Nov. 23. Rip City evened the score with a dominant 146-108 home win on Dec. 2, but the Clippers took the most recent meeting 135-128 in overtime in Rip City on Dec. 4.
Rip City enters having snapped a two-game skid with a dramatic 126-125 home victory over Valley on Saturday. Guard Chris Youngblood was instrumental in that win, posting 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. He will be a primary focus for the Remix offense after his recent high-level performance.
San Diego looks to rebound from a 121-100 road loss at Santa Cruz on March 1. In that game, forward Jahmyl Telfort led all scorers with 29 points. Telfort has been a consistent force for the Clippers, scoring 20 or more points in four of his last six outings, including a 24-point effort in a 135-132 overtime win over Austin on Feb. 20.
The Remix have shown offensive firepower but inconsistency, averaging over 128 points in their last two wins but being held under 100 in two recent losses to Iowa. San Diego’s recent results have been a mix of high-scoring victories and narrow defeats, with three of their last six games decided by three points or less or in overtime.
This contest begins a critical back-to-back set between the teams, as they will meet again at Frontwave Arena on Thursday night. Following this mini-series, Rip City returns home for a four-game stand, while San Diego embarks on a two-game road trip to Texas.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST on Wednesday, March 11.
